Qualifications

• PhD in Physics, Chemistry, or Materials Science required.
• Proven expertise in performing and interpreting STM/STS measurements.
• Expertise in air-sensitive sample preparation and maintaining vacuum for sensitive superconducting materials.
• Ability to lead scientific projects from data acquisition to publication in peer‑reviewed journals.

Responsibilities

• Perform low temperature STM/STS measurements and map electronic structure.
• Conduct hyperspectral STS mapping over large areas.
• Coordinate glove box setup for air‑sensitive sample prep.
• Coordinate STM/STS with TEM studies at the same sample position.
• Oversee AI‑driven analysis of correlation microscopy data.
• Collaborate with Molecular Foundry and UC Santa Barbara on superconducting qubits.
• Summarize findings in manuscripts and publish results.
• Supervise PhD students and collaborating postdocs.
