Job summary

Form Energy in Somerville, MA is seeking a Staff Reliability Engineer to improve the reliability and lifetime of our iron-air battery cell. You will work with the Cell and Electrode Engineering teams to develop test plans, analyze data, and define design requirements.

Qualifications

Degree in Engineering or a related field.
7+ years hands-on industry experience in product development and hardware reliability.
Proven ability to develop reliability test plans, ALT, and perform statistical data analysis.

Responsibilities

Act as the primary authority on Design for Reliability (DfR) for critical battery components and mentor peers.
Translate product goals into reliability requirements and define roadmaps for verifying component lifetimes.
Design and execute complex experiments and accelerated life tests to uncover failure mechanisms.
Perform advanced statistical analysis to translate test data into reliability and lifetime models.
Partner with design owners to de-risk and down-select next-iteration concepts based on reliability data.
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Process, and Quality to improve reliability of products manufactured at the factory.
Champion safety in new laboratory processes and test methods.
