Day Kimball Health is hiring for a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Per Diem 8-Hours Medical Surgical Unit in Putnam, CT.

Job Summary:

As a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN), you will diagnose responses to health problems and provide emergent, supportive, and restorative care using the nursing process. You will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to patients in your assigned responsibilities.

Responsibilities include:

• Assess patients systematically based on age and developmental level, considering physical, psycho-social, emotional, cultural, spiritual, and discharge needs.
• Use effective oral and written communication skills, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate.
• Operate patient care equipment accurately and demonstrate technical proficiency.
• Evaluate and update the plan of care as needed.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
• Recognize unsafe or life-threatening situations and intervene appropriately.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Graduate from an accredited nursing school.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification or equivalent within 3 months of hire.
• Current NVCIT (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training) certification or within 3 months of hire.
