Job Summary:

As an Inpatient Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN), you will diagnose responses to health problems and provide emergent, supportive, and restorative care using the nursing process. The role requires knowledge and skills to deliver age-appropriate care to patients.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients systematically based on age and developmental level, considering physical, psychosocial, emotional, cultural, spiritual, and discharge needs.
• Communicate effectively, ensuring complete and accurate documentation.
• Operate patient care equipment skillfully and knowledgeably.
• Evaluate and update the plan of care as needed.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Recognize unsafe or life-threatening situations and intervene appropriately.
• Knowledge of Psychiatric Nursing is preferred.
• Respond to and de-escalate situations involving patient outbursts or inappropriate behavior.
• Maintain emotional resilience and an even temperament in crisis situations.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• CPR certification (AHA Healthcare Provider or equivalent) within 3 months of hire.
• NVCIT (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training) certification or completion within 3 months of hire.
