Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a GI Lab nursing position in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin.
Responsible for providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skilled communication, leads efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
Uses the nursing process to assess patient needs, plan and implement individualized interventions, and evaluate the effectiveness of the care plan. Includes the patient and family in planning and implementing care and maintains a therapeutic relationship throughout the healthcare continuum.
Anticipates and recognizes significant changes in the patient’s condition, status, and needs. Provides ongoing assessment, takes appropriate actions, and collaborates with the healthcare team to coordinate patient-centered care.
Implements strategies to reduce patient risk and increase safety. Assesses patient and family readiness to learn and individualizes the approach. Works collaboratively to meet learning needs.
Coordinates discharge planning using an interdisciplinary approach. Applies evidence-based practice and incorporates nursing and regulatory standards into care.
Evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes, and supports initiatives to improve processes and outcomes.
Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution skills. Promotes collaboration and assumes a leadership role in the care team, delegating appropriately.
Promotes a culture of safety, reports safety events, and assists in implementing corrective actions.
Applies ethical decision-making, respects peers and other disciplines, and participates as an effective team member.
Participates in quality and process improvement initiatives and professional development activities.
Scheduled Hours: Per Diem, On-call required, must be within 30 minutes of hospital.
Licenses & Certifications: RN license issued by the state, BLS certification from AHA.
Degrees: Completion of an accredited Nursing program.
Experience: Typically 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
Skills & Abilities: Proficiency in electronic records, excellent communication, interpersonal skills, critical decision-making, organization, and teamwork abilities. Maintains annual certifications as required.
