Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the GI Lab in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.

Job Description & Requirements

• Specialty: GI Lab
• Discipline: RN
• Duration: Ongoing
• 20 hours per week
• Shift: Days, with flexible start times between 6:30 and 8:00 AM
• Employment Type: Staff

Schedule Details:

• This position is 0.5 FTE or 20 hours per week.
• Monday through Friday with flexible start times.
• Weeknight, weekend, and holiday call divided among nurses.

Major Responsibilities:

• Assess patient needs, plan and implement care, involve family, and maintain therapeutic relationships.
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, coordinate care, and utilize resources.
• Implement safety strategies, assess learning needs, and develop educational plans.
• Coordinate discharge planning, apply evidence-based practices, and adhere to standards.
• Evaluate outcomes, support quality initiatives, and promote safety culture.
• Communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, and demonstrate leadership and delegation skills.
• Participate in quality improvement, professional development, and team activities.
• Provide age-appropriate care, understanding growth and development stages.

Licensure, Registration, and Certification:

• RN license issued by the state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA.

Education:

• Completion of an accredited nursing program.

Experience:

• Typically 1 year of clinical nursing experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Holistic patient care, recognizing changes, and responding confidently.
• Proficiency with electronic records, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build rapport, make decisions, organize, prioritize, and collaborate.
• Maintain annual educational requirements for certifications.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform various physical tasks.
• Exposure to chemicals, hazardous waste, blood, and body fluids with proper protective gear.
• Functional senses and fine motor skills for procedures.
