Experience: 1 year Medical Surgical RN experience; 2 years Med Surg RN experience preferred

Major Responsibilities:
  • Use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, involving patients and families.
  • Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, adjusting care plans accordingly.
  • Implement strategies to enhance patient safety and reduce risks.
  • Coordinate discharge planning with an interdisciplinary approach.
  • Evaluate outcomes and support quality improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, and promote collaboration.
  • Identify safety threats, report incidents, and help implement corrective actions.
  • Apply ethical principles and participate in team decision-making.
  • Engage in professional development and maintain competencies.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • RN license issued by the state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association

Education Required:

  • Completion of an accredited nursing program

Experience Required:

  • Typically 1 year of clinical nursing experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Holistic patient care with a focus on family and patient needs.
  • Recognition of changing clinical situations and confident response.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and communication tools.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to make critical decisions independently.
  • Time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Teamwork, delegation, and leadership skills.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach, and twist frequently.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs, carry up to 40 lbs, push/pull 30 lbs.
  • Operate equipment and perform procedures requiring fine motor skills.
  • Exposure to chemicals, blood, body fluids, and communicable diseases with appropriate protective gear.
  • Good speech, vision, hearing, and touch capabilities.
