Our Advanced/Complex Cardiac unit is seeking dynamic nurses, both newly licensed and experienced, to join our team of nursing excellence. Join Aurora St. Luke's, a SIX-TIME Magnet designated facility.

10 T is a 24-bed unit caring for patients with advanced heart failure, chest pain, pre-open heart surgery, pulmonary hypertension, and medical overflow patients. Also, patients with pacemakers, defibrillators, arrhythmia treatments, and medication management for arrhythmias.

Second Shift Differential: $2.25/hr
Weekend Differential: $2/hr

Major Responsibilities:

• Assess patient needs, plan and implement individualized interventions, and evaluate care effectiveness, involving patients and families.
• Recognize significant changes in patient condition, assess, and respond appropriately, collaborating with the healthcare team.
• Implement strategies to reduce patient risk and increase safety, and educate patients and families.
• Coordinate discharge planning with an interdisciplinary approach, applying evidence-based practices.
• Evaluate patient and team outcomes, support shared governance, and participate in quality initiatives.
• Communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, and assume leadership roles, delegating appropriately.
• Promote safety culture, report safety events, and participate in safety improvements.
• Apply ethical decision-making, respect peers and disciplines, and participate in team care planning.
• Engage in professional development activities and complete required competencies.
• Provide age-appropriate care, understanding growth, development, and individual patient needs.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

• RN license issued by practicing state
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA

Education Required:

• Completion of an accredited Nursing program

Experience Required:

• New graduates welcome

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Holistic patient care, situational awareness, and confident response to changes
• Proficient in computer skills, electronic records, and communication
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and decision-making skills

Certification Addendum:

• Maintain annual hospital certification requirements

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Ability to sit, stand, lift, and perform physical tasks as described
• Lift up to 50 lbs, carry up to 40 lbs, push/pull with 30 lbs force
• Exposure to chemicals, biohazards, and communicable diseases with proper protective equipment
• Functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch, with fine motor skills
