Job summary

Anyscale is looking for a senior software engineer to own a major Ray Core area and drive the technical roadmap from conception to production. You will lead multi-engineer projects, make architectural decisions, and influence the direction of distributed infrastructure.

You will work hands-on in a systems-focused codebase, mentor engineers, and push for architectural excellence as Ray scales across workloads and clusters.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with growing technical ownership.
• Experience leading substantial end-to-end projects across multiple engineers and quarters.
• Deep experience with distributed systems and computer systems, not relying on existing platforms.
• Strong systems programming in languages like C++, Rust, Java or similar.
• Ability to set technical direction and drive architecture for distributed infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Own a major technical area of Ray Core end to end, define roadmap and drive production execution.
• Lead large, technically complex projects spanning engineers, teams, and organizations.
• Set technical direction and make architectural decisions for distributed computing infrastructure.
• Design, build, and evolve core distributed-systems primitives beyond existing platforms.
• Work on distributed execution, scheduling, resource management, fault tolerance, concurrency, networking, storage, or performance.
• Stay hands-on with implementation and debugging in a systems-oriented codebase.
• Help shape Ray Core's long-term architecture as workloads scale.
