Job summary

Anyscale is seeking a seasoned software engineer to own a major Ray Core area, define the roadmap, and drive production-grade execution. You will lead large, cross-team projects, set architectural direction, and build core distributed-systems primitives.

This role requires hands-on coding in a systems-oriented codebase and a track record of mentoring engineers. The team is building scalable ML infrastructure and partnering with leading tech companies; a strong background in distributed systems

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with increasing ownership.
• Experience leading substantial, multi-engineer projects across quarters.
• Deep experience with distributed systems and computer systems.
• Strong systems programming in C++, Rust, Java, or similar lower-level languages.

Responsibilities

• Own a major technical area of Ray Core end to end, defining the roadmap and driving production execution.
• Lead large, technically complex projects spanning multiple engineers and teams.
• Set technical direction and make architectural decisions for distributed infrastructure.
• Design, build, and evolve core distributed-systems primitives, not just integrate existing platforms.
• Work on distributed execution, scheduling, resource management, fault tolerance, concurrency, and networking.
• Stay hands-on with implementation and debugging in a systems-oriented codebase.
• Shape the long-term architecture and evolution of Ray Core as scale grows.
