Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.

Short Description
  • Responsible for internal high-speed connector and cable assembly product design and development, which are used inside of Server and storage for data communication.
  • Following the TE LEANPD process to complete new product design and development along with the project development team, including but not limited to customer requirements alignment, concept conceives, detailed design, product qualification, and production.
  • Work closely with SA/FAE/PM to review VOC and convert to TE product specification.
  • Conceives concepts, feasibility study along with project team, proto sample, and validation.
  • Detailed design such as DFMEA, Tolerance analysis, Mechanical and thermal simulation, 2D drawing, and so on.
  • Product qualification following product specification.
  • Technical support for quality and efficiency improvement for a safe launch.
  • Technical support to customers, Sales/FAE, PM and Ops teams globally.
What your background should look like:
  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is required and/or Master's preferred.
  • 5 years or above experience in connector design or manufacturing engineering.
  • Knowledge in connector design and development, including but not limited to, material selection, tolerance analysis, DFMEA, product qualification, etc.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, molding, stamping, plating, etc.
  • Excellent skill in Design Software (For Example Pro/E, CREO, AutoCAD, etc.)
  • Capable of using MS Office software (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook, etc.)
  • Good English skills in both Oral and Written.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Familiar with quality tools (FMEA, 6sigma, DOE, 8D…), Black belt will be a plus.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity will be a plus.

COMPENSATION

• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $141,400 – $212,200 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
