Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a Staff Engineer Quality to lead and implement robust quality systems across programs. You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to ensure quality standards are met, conduct statistical analysis, and drive corrective actions with suppliers.

The role requires a deep knowledge of QA methods, AS9100/ISO 9001, Lean Six Sigma, and a US citizenship with ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related STEM field with 12 years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, or Quality Assurance; 10 years with Masters Degree.
• Experience with Quality Management Systems (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, etc.).
• Technical experience in Quality, Data Analysis or Statistical Analysis.
• Risk management principles and contractual requirement review experience.
• Lean Six Sigma certification or experience.
• US Citizenship Required.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished product.
• Assesses program performance and risks related to quality requirements to ensure contractual requirements are met.
• Review and assess contractual requirements for applicability.
• Perform cost account management-related activities on programs supporting.
• Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with customers.
• Collaborates with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain functions to ensure quality standards are in place and met.
• Support program gate reviews as required.
• Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
• Work from engineering drawings, diagrams, customer specifications, inspection instructions, and checklists to ensure items meet required specifications and quality standards.
• Initiate Corrective Action Plans and work with suppliers, manufacturing, and engineering personnel to identify the root cause and ensure robust corrective actions are implemented.
• Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards, and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
• Applies technical knowledge in industry-standard quality engineering methods, interpretation of drawing requirements and applicable specifications & standards, and mechanical measurement & analysis.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
