Job summary

AlphaSense, Inc. is seeking a Staff Quality Engineer dedicated to REDS to define how we prove data correctness before it reaches customers.

You will set the strategy, build the practice from the ground up, and partner with engineering and product leadership to embed quality as a measurable part of every release. You will own the quality program for company reference data, close coverage gaps, define correctness criteria, and implement automated checks across ingestion, matching, and change

Qualifications

• 8+ years hands-on quality engineering for backend or data platforms.
• Designing and automating tests for backend/data systems, incl. API/contract testing.
• Deep expertise in test design across unit, API, and end-to-end layers.
• Experience validating data correctness at scale, esp. matching/identity pipelines.
• Strong CD/CI and release quality gates understanding.
• Proven ability to set direction and influence without authority.
• Clear, confident communication with technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the quality strategy for AlphaSense's company data, built on quality by design and automation by default.
• Close test coverage gaps on critical workflows: data ingestion, matching, identifiers, and change events.
• Define correctness metrics and build gold datasets, samples, and automated checks.
• Set quality measures and release standards for the team.
• Build scalable automation across data, API, and event-driven interfaces; define unit to E2E scope.
• Anticipate data lifecycle risks and build regression coverage.
• Partner with developers on test planning for new features.
• Use production signals to focus on risk reduction.
• Bring AI into test design, maintenance, and triage.
• Coach engineers and raise quality across teams.
