Job summary

Medallia, Inc. in McLean, VA, seeks a Staff QA Engineer for the Digital Experience Analytics product.

You will design, own, and execute quality programs across multiple teams, focusing on data correctness as data flows to customer dashboards. You will build automation in Java/JUnit, Python tooling, and SQL data verifications, integrate tests into Jenkins, and collaborate with backend teams to create lasting automated checks.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in backend, integration, and data QA or SDET roles.
• Strong SQL and data validation to verify sessions and automate checks.
• Python tooling to parse JSON, analyze logs, and report failures.
• REST API testing including multi-step and async data delivery.
• Java automation and CI/CD experience with Jenkins.
• AWS cloud experience and cloud logs for debugging test failures.
• Define release criteria and deployment gates.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute quality strategy, test frameworks, and deployment gates across multi-team environments.
• Build and maintain repeatable integration test suites in Java/JUnit and integrate into Jenkins.
• Write SQL scripts to verify datasets and detect missing or malformed data.
• Cover REST APIs with tests, including delayed/async data scenarios.
• Collaborate with backend teams to create permanent automated checks and prioritize defects.
