Job summary

Meeru AI Inc is building an AI-native platform to transform how finance teams operate. As Staff Data Engineer, you will own the major subsystems of the data foundation—the pipelines, connectors, and curated models feeding the analytics and AI layers.

You will translate data architecture and standards into robust, production-grade systems with end-to-end ownership of transformations, integrations, and lineage, ensuring auditable data across multi-cloud SaaS deployments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in QA and test automation, including 3+ years leading people.
• Automation frameworks from scratch across API, UI and backend tests.
• Strong coding in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript (PyTest for backend, TypeScript for frontend).
• Deep API testing experience: REST, GraphQL, WebSockets using PyTest, Postman, or REST Assured.
• Modern end-to-end UI testing: Playwright or Cypress for React/Next.js apps.
• Backend and database testing with Python/FastAPI and PostgreSQL (SQLAlchemy).
• CI/CD integration using GitHub Actions, Jenkins or GitLab CI; Docker/Kubernetes environments.
• Performance and load testing with k6, Locust or JMeter; front-end checks with Lighthouse.
• Security testing: SAST/DAST in pipelines (SonarQube, Snyk, OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite).
• Multi-tenant SaaS testing; SOC 2, GDPR or HIPAA compliance testing.
• Cloud experience: AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Quality leadership, metrics, KPIs, release and regression procedures.
• Clear communication and collaboration with Product, Engineering and DevOps in Agile/Scrum.

Responsibilities

• Own major data pipelines and integrations end to end.
• Ensure data reconciliation and lineage to prove curated models tie back to source.
• Collaborate with Data Lead to implement robust, production-grade data systems.
