Job summary

the company in San Francisco, CA is seeking an experienced Search Product Manager to own the ranking algorithms powering our largest discovery surface. You will translate product insight into a durable roadmap and make sharp prioritization calls between near-term wins and longer-term investments while working with a world-class data science team.

You will partner with ML Platform and Discovery Infrastructure, define metrics, and present progress to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of product management experience, including direct ownership of search or ranking systems, ideally at a marketplace or e-commerce company.
• Strong prioritization instincts — a track record of identifying the highest-impact opportunities and sequencing them.
• Technical fluency — comfortable engaging with technical white papers and engineering counterparts.
• Execution rigor across complex, multi-dependency work.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategy that takes our search experience to the next level via ranking algorithmic iterations.
• Own a product roadmap for Search Ranking that is analytically grounded, clearly prioritized, and connected to business outcomes.
• Direct the analytical work of the pod — identify novel opportunities, diagnose root causes, translate findings into actionable insight.
• Determine the right sequencing of opportunities, including when to invest in foundational work vs near-term delivery.
• Define and refine the metrics that show Search Ranking performance and retailer experience.
• Build trusted partnerships across ML Platform and Discovery Infrastructure teams, managing team bandwidth.
• Represent the team's strategy and progress to leadership.
