Job summary

Motive is hiring a Senior / Staff Product Manager for Connected Devices (Equipment Monitoring) in the United States. You will own the hardware and firmware roadmap, drive NPIs from concept through mass production, and own device reliability across field deployments.

You will collaborate with Electrical Engineering, Embedded/Firmware, Mechanical, Quality, Manufacturing, and TPM teams, while coordinating with cloud and mobile groups to ensure a cohesive product strategy.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of product management experience in IoT or connected hardware.
• Ownership of at least one hardware NPI reaching material volume.
• Strong technical fluency in battery-powered connected systems and RF/antenna basics.
• Direct experience owning firmware roadmaps including OTA and staged rollouts.
• Demonstrated field reliability improvements with data.
• Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives across engineering, operations, and GTM.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; customer empathy with data.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer/Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial/CS or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own the hardware and firmware roadmap for Equipment Monitoring devices.
• Drive end-to-end NPI execution from problem definition to production.
• Own the installed base: field failures, battery life, connectivity, and install success.
• Define and prioritize firmware features: OTA, telemetry, diagnostics, security.
• Lead device partnerships and collaborate with BD and Supply Chain.
• Make trade-offs across features, BOM, power, connectivity, and manufacturability.
• Translate customer and market signals into crisp requirements through discovery.
• Write PRDs and specs to align hardware, firmware, and TPM teams.
• Partner with cloud and mobile teams to evolve firmware contracts.
• Drive go-to-market readiness with GTM teams on positioning and enablement.
• Represent Motive's hardware viewpoint externally with partners.
