Staff Product Designer: Spatial & AR/XR Experiences

Gecko Robotics; New York (NY); On-site; USD 120,000 - 170,000; Full time

Job summary

Gecko Robotics is seeking a product designer to transform rich spatial data into clear, usable experiences for field operators and industrial workers. You will define how people interact with 3D representations of real environments, understand inspections, coordinate robotic systems, and access information where work happens.

You’ll own the experience from discovery through prototyping, implementation, and iteration with users, collaborating with product engineers and specialists in field

Responsibilities

• Spend time with field operators, data analysts, and facility workers to understand their tasks, constraints, and decisions.
• Define workflows and interactions across desktop 3D applications and AR/XR devices, choosing the medium that best serves the task.
• Build functional prototypes using representative spatial data, and test them with users.
• Contribute directly to interface implementation alongside product engineers, who provide support on architecture, data integration, performance, and production reliability.
• Develop experiences for understanding robot activity, inspection coverage, findings, and exceptions within a physical environment.
• Establish consistent interaction principles for spatial navigation, selection, annotation, information hierarchy, and feedback.
• Evaluate what improves task completion, comprehension, and operator workload, and use that evidence to guide iteration.
