Job summary

Databricks is seeking an IC design lead for Omnigent to guide how humans and fleets of agents work together across desktop and mobile. You’ll own strategy, craft, and cross-functional collaboration, translating frontier agent capabilities into clear, controllable experiences with high trust and low friction.

You’ll ship small codebase changes and prototype your way through large, ambiguous problems, shaping product direction with engineering and product partners and driving a scalable design

Qualifications

• Strong end-to-end craft in interaction design and design systems.
• Experience shipping complex developer tools or AI/ML products.
• Self-directed and comfortable in ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Own the desktop and mobile experience for live agent sessions end to end - from strategy and interaction models to visual polish and shipped detail.
• Design directly in the codebase for well-scoped changes, working alongside engineers to ship real improvements.
• Use prototypes as a primary thinking tool to explore and de-risk large, vague problems.
• Invent the interaction language for agentic work across multi-agent sessions, approvals, observability, and recovery.
• Define durable UX principles and frameworks for agent collaboration and recovery used across Omnigent surfaces.
• Drive cross-platform consistency with a scalable design system for desktop and mobile.
• Ground decisions in evidence and real usage to determine what to build next.
