Job summary
Lyten is seeking a Staff Process Quality Engineer to own production-line quality, lead investigations, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing. The role emphasizes problem solving with DOE/6-sigma, data analytics, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering and operations.
You will mentor technicians, develop SOPs, and ensure QMS compliance while delivering actionable insights that improve yield and defect trends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, materials science, or related technical field.
- 7+ years in quality and process engineering.
- 3+ years in battery cell manufacturing and/or development.
- Strong knowledge of DOE, SPC, FMEA, root cause analysis, and ISO 9001 systems.
- Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools (JMP, Minitab, Tableau, etc.).
- Experience with Python or R for statistics or automation.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Own quality on assigned production lines and monitor in-line quality.
- Lead structured investigations using 5Why, Fishbone, 6-sigma, and DOE methods.
- Deliver weekly quality reports with data visualization.
- Provide trend analysis and KPIs; identify data automation opportunities.
- Mentor technicians and junior engineers in root cause analysis.
- Develop and audit SOPs; maintain QMS and NC systems.
