Job summary

Amprius Technologies is hiring a hands-on Manufacturing Process Engineer at staff level to join the Fremont, CA manufacturing group. You will own process parameters, yield, and throughput for front-end and back-end cell-assembly stations as new pilot-line equipment comes online and ramps to full production.

You will lead DOE studies, implement control plans, SOPs, and operator training, while driving improvements in yield, cycle time, and OEE across assigned stations.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering; advanced degree a plus.
• 8+ years of process/manufacturing engineering in lithium-ion cell production or similar.
• Hands-on ownership of cell-assembly equipment and processes.
• Proven yield or throughput improvements from data analysis to implementation.
• Proficiency with DOE, SPC, PFMEA, and measurement system analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own process parameters for cell-assembly stations; develop recipes and control plans.
• Design and run structured experiments (DOE) to optimize yield and cycle time.
• Lead first-pass yield, scrap reduction, and root-cause investigations with 8D/5-Why methods.
• Measure OEE, identify bottlenecks, and drive line-balancing and changeover reduction.
• Collaborate with equipment vendors and maintenance to resolve tool issues.
• Write and maintain SOPs, train technicians, and support daily production.
• Apply lean and Six Sigma for continuous improvement on the assembly line.
