Job summary

NScale is seeking a Staff Engineer to provide senior-level engineering support across Power, Utilities & Infrastructure teams. The role covers power supply agreements, AI load strategy, and substation/grid design.

You will perform technical analyses, assist in negotiations, and collaborate with Legal, Finance, Development, and Construction to advance projects. The role emphasizes site visits, commissioning readiness, and integration of on-site generation with UPS/BESS/microgrid controllers, with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Required)
• 5-8+ years of experience in power systems engineering or related field (Required)
• Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting technical requirements and system studies (Required)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Required)
• Ability to produce or review one-line diagrams and support system studies (Required)
• Master’s degree and PE license (Preferred)
• Experience with data center or large industrial power infrastructure (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Provide technical engineering analysis and design support aligned to the team’s focus area (e.g., power supply agreements, AI load strategy, grid engineering).
• Support system studies (load flow, short-circuit, reliability) and related technical analyses.
• Prepare technical documentation supporting negotiations, design decisions, or strategy recommendations.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (Legal, Finance, Development, Construction) on technical aspects of projects.
• Visit sites as needed to support commissioning, troubleshooting, and design clarifications.
• Support on-site power generation design and integration with UPS/BESS/microgrid controllers.
