StubHub in the United States seeks a Staff Software Engineer to own the core streaming and storage platforms. You will drive the architecture for high-throughput event processing and lead the migration of streaming from Azure to AWS-native Kafka, with strong emphasis on governance, scalability, and developer experience.

You will mentor 3-5 engineers, collaborate with ~100 service teams, and shape a multi-year roadmap while ensuring observability and incident readiness across P0 systems.

Qualificações

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with leadership roles.
• Deep expertise in event streaming and messaging with Kafka or compatible brokers.
• Production-scale infrastructure experience, high availability and cost management.
• Cloud data storage and NoSQL systems experience.
• Proven track record leading multi-quarter platform migrations and cross-team initiatives.
• Excellent communication to align leadership, partners and engineers.

Responsabilidades

• Own the technical strategy and architecture for StubHub's streaming platform and NoSQL/storage offerings.
• Lead migration of streaming from Azure to an AWS-native, Kafka-compatible platform with schema registry.
• Design and operate high-throughput infrastructure processing billions of events daily.
• Drive engineering excellence: reviews, observability, operational readiness and incident response.
• Partner with ~100 service teams on adoption, tooling and developer experience.
• Ensure governance (SOX, GDPR/CCPA) and data access controls are designed in.
• Mentor and grow a team of 3-5 engineers and shape multi-year roadmap.
• Collaborate with engineering to align on technical direction across platforms.
