StubHub is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the Core Platform - Streaming & Storage. You will own the architecture and delivery of the streaming, messaging, and storage platforms powering billions of events daily across 100+ service teams.

You will mentor engineers, drive multi-quarter migrations, and shape a multi-year roadmap while ensuring compliance and high availability in a hybrid onsite/remote setup across major US locations.

Qualifikationen

• 8+ years in software engineering with lead for large distributed systems.
• Deep expertise in event streaming with Kafka or compatible brokers.
• Production infra at scale: HA, incident response, performance tuning, cost management.
• Experience with cloud data storage and NoSQL systems.
• Track record of leading multi-quarter cross-team migrations or programs end-to-end.
• Excellent communication skills to align leadership, partner teams and engineers.
• Schema registry and compatibility tooling, lakehouse formats (Iceberg), CDC pipelines, .NET/C#, Python, Kubernetes, Terraform, OpenTelemetry.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.

Aufgaben

• Own the technical strategy and architecture for StubHub's streaming platform and NoSQL/storage offerings.
• Lead migration from Azure to an AWS-native, Kafka-compatible platform with vendor selection and tooling.
• Design and operate high-throughput infrastructure processing billions of events daily.
• Drive engineering excellence via reviews, observability, readiness and incident response for P0 systems.
• Partner with ~100 service teams on adoption and migration tooling.
• Ensure compliance and governance (SOX, GDPR/CCPA) are designed into the platform.
• Mentor and grow a team of 3-5 engineers and raise the technical bar.
• Shape the team's multi-year roadmap in partnership with engineering.
