Job summary

Defense Unicorns seeks a Staff Platform Engineer to design, build, and own the runtime production environment bridging applications to the platform. You will drive platform architecture decisions, set engineering standards, and serve as the technical anchor between application and platform teams.

You will own end-to-end platform strategy, define roadmaps, mentor engineers, and champion DevSecOps across the platform layer while collaborating with customers and mission managers to align to

Qualifications

• US citizenship required or eligible for Secret clearance.
• Deep experience solving cross-domain technical problems.
• Kubernetes, containers, and Go proficiency.
• Strong YAML and security automation skills.
• Proven ability to lead across multiple teams in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain scalable runtime production environments across cloud-native and containerized systems.
• Own the platform technical roadmap and align it with mission objectives.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar.
• Collaborate with product teams and customers to define technical roadmaps.
• Advise on DevSecOps practices, security automation, and compliance.
• Drive CI/CD improvements and deployment patterns across platforms.
