Job summary

SandboxAQ is hiring a Staff Engineer for the Platform & Infrastructure team. You will lead architectural strategy, scale core services, and mentor engineers to advance our Large Quantitative Models infrastructure.

The role focuses on cloud-native systems, GPU/ML workloads, and cross-functional collaboration across product, research, and security teams to ensure secure, high-performance platforms.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development with distributed systems.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and mentoring juniors.
• Expertise in cloud-native infrastructure (GCP) and Kubernetes at scale.
• Experience with GPU/ML infrastructure for training and inference workloads.

Responsibilities

• Lead Architectural Strategy: Define and execute the long-term vision for our infrastructure, designing resilient, distributed systems that support AI workloads.
• Mentor and Develop Talent: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering high standards and code quality.
• Systemic Problem Solving: Diagnose bottlenecks and break down infrastructure challenges into scalable requirements.
• Drive Platform Excellence: Design foundational services to improve developer experience and reduce operational overhead.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with product, research, and security teams to ensure secure and performant infrastructure.
