Job summary

Verily Health is building a cloud-native developer platform (PaaS) to support 600+ engineers across the software lifecycle, with a focus on secure, scalable, and delightful developer experiences. The role leads vision and execution for a broad functional area, leveraging Kubernetes, Backstage, ArgoCD, and Terraform among other tools.

You will collaborate with engineers on architecture, drive high-quality implementations, and promote best practices in monitoring, CI/CD, and production readiness.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in CS or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years building reliable, scalable, secure products in Go, Python, C++, or similar.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure) and GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Backstage, or similar.
• Strong data structures, algorithms, and system design with debugging skills.
• Strong communication skills for requirements gathering and design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Own vision, roadmap, and execution for a broad area; set priorities.
• Design and develop capabilities using cloud-native open source components (e.g. Kubernetes, Backstage, ArgoCD, Terraform).
• Scope tasks and priorities for team members contributing to your objectives.
• Drive execution through high‑quality implementation and best practices in code health, monitoring, and CI.
• Collaborate with the engineering team on system architecture and integrations.
