Job summary

BD is seeking a Staff Engineer, Software Engineering, for on-site work in Irvine, CA, to lead scalable platform infrastructure integrating EHR and cloud apps. The role demands hands-on leadership, a strong cloud background, and a focus on performance, reliability, and security.

You will work across Go, Java, React, and JavaScript to deliver high-impact services and SDKs. Ideal candidates have 7+ years building large-scale healthcare software, experience with AWS, Terraform/CDK, and RESTful APIs,

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building large-scale software applications in healthcare or related field.
• 2+ years experience in Terraform and/or CDK.
• Experience running and supporting production systems on AWS for 2-3 years.
• Experience in leading engineers, planning and execution of deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, deployment, and production support.
• Architect and guide building end-to-end systems optimized for performance, scale, and reliability.
• Work primarily in Go, Java, React, and JavaScript.
• Develop platform SDKs and RESTful APIs
• Plan and lead other engineers to deliver features in a fast paced environment
• Develop, maintain CDK scripts to support provisioning of infrastructure
• Implement CI/CD pipeline for efficient delivery and updates
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, API guides and technical guides
• Understand user experience and product strategy with customer-centric design decisions
• Clear communication and written skills across teams
• Design and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure using AWS CDK or Terraform
• Develop and maintain internal SDKs and developer tooling to consume platform capabilities
• Own reliability, security, and observability of AWS environments across multi-account/region setups
