Job summary

Huntress Labs in the United States is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to evolve the Core Platform and lead architectural strategy. You will stay deeply hands-on, shaping the platform that powers the product suite while guiding multiple teams to deliver secure, scalable features.

Reporting to Engineering Manager, the role emphasizes ADR-driven decisions, lifecycle management, and mentoring across disciplines, with remote US work and strong compensation incentives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience developing complex software products and acting as senior technical anchor.
• 5+ years of programming in Ruby on Rails, with experience scaling large monoliths.
• Strong architectural experience with ADR-driven design decisions and lifecycles.
• Experience with AWS or other public clouds, Linux-based infra, and large-scale DB management.
• Excellent diagnostic, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and mentor engineers on the most complex features.
• Partner with Engineering Manager to steer technical direction and set engineering standards.
• Own cross-team dependencies and collaborate to remove roadblocks for delivery.
• Drive ADR processes for major changes affecting the codebase.
• Oversee system lifecycle evolution, configuration and risk management.
• Mentor engineers and promote collaboration and engagement.
