Job summary

Nokia is seeking a senior design leader to drive the design and development of high performance tunable lasers, high speed devices and PIC integration in the Optical Networks group. You will influence product requirements, guide cross-functional teams, and help shape roadmaps with a data-driven, rigorous engineering approach.

This role emphasizes technical leadership, collaboration with fab, epitaxy, test and reliability teams, and a strong background in semiconductor optical devices to deliver

Qualifications

• MS/PhD in engineering with 10+ years in telecommunications, optoelectronics or microelectronics development.
• Strong understanding of optical components design, epitaxy, fabrication and component/system level tests.
• Experience with semiconductor optical devices such as lasers, detectors, modulators and other integrated waveguide devices.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to a team of strong individual designers on the design and development of high performance tunable lasers, high speed devices and PIC integration.
• Lead interactions within internal teams on design and qualification efforts.
• Enhance and rigorously execute on design methodologies and processes.
• Work with cross-functional teams to understand and define product requirements and plans.
• Independently resolves issues and conquer technical challenges.
• Provide inputs into product road maps.
