Job summary

Meijer Pharmacy in Michigan is seeking a pharmacist to lead patient care and drive community health initiatives. You will fill prescriptions, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with policies and laws.

The role emphasizes patient education, immunizations, and collaboration with store leadership to advance the pharmacy services. A PharmD and state licensure are required, with retail experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist degree and license in state of practice.
• Retail/Community pharmacy experience preferred.
• Ability to educate patients and staff per policy.

Responsibilities

• Fill prescriptions accurately and safely.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members and leadership.
• Hold and guide pharmacy technicians to grow the business.
• Educate and mentor technicians to be effective team members.
• Motivate team members to perform at a high level.
• Adhere to Meijer Policies and Procedures and state/federal laws.
• Communicate effectively and act as a change agent.
• Maintain strong organizational skills to prioritize workload.
• Listen to patient needs and deliver excellent customer service.
• In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, manage pharmacy operations.
• Perform and oversee clinical services, including immunizations.
• Role may include other duties as assigned.

This position must practice the profession of pharmacy in an environment that by philosophy and policy, promote patient care and education. This person must be patient directed, clinically oriented, and have a vision to take Meijer Pharmacy to the next level of patient care.

What You'll be Doing:

• Fill prescriptions safely accurately.

• Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to be effective team members.

• Competent and knowledgeable of Meijer Policies and Procedures as well as state and federal laws.
• Effective communication skills and agent of change.

• Listen to the patient and resolve patient’s needs, customer service.

What You Bring With You (Qualifications):

• Bachelor of Science Degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
• Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
• Certified Immunization Pharmacist (except Indiana)
• Retail/Community Practice.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy system, working knowledge of policies and procedures, understanding of regulatory in the state the unit operates.
