Job summary

Piedmont Newnan Hospital is seeking a licensed pharmacist to support distribution, compounding, dispensing and medication therapy review for patients across all ages. This hospital role includes mentoring technicians and ensuring safe, effective medication use.

The successful candidate will supervise pharmacy technicians, maintain compliance with regulations, and contribute to patient-centered clinical activities that optimize pharmacotherapy throughout the patient care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor's or higher in Pharmacy Required.
• No experience required
• Hospital pharmacy experience Preferred.
• PHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist Licensed as a registered pharmacist in the state of Georgia Upon Hire Required.

Responsibilities

• Distribute, document, and compound drugs, solutions, and equipment for patients and staff.
• Review, compound, dispense and monitor medication therapy across age groups (infants to geriatrics).
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and ensure competency of staff.
• Provide patient-focused care clinical activities to optimize medication therapy.

Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.
