Role Overview: Our Staff Pharmacists play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence in their pharmacy by acting as a role model, demonstrating genuine care, and setting the bar for the pharmacy team. They support the Pharmacy Manager in leading and directing the pharmacy operations and are accountable for managing all aspects within the pharmacy.

Responsibilities include:

1. Living our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizations.
2. Taking direction from the Pharmacy Manager and overseeing the pharmacy as their proxy during shifts, including coaching and providing feedback to the pharmacy team.
3. Assuming the Pharmacy Manager’s duties when serving as the primary pharmacist-on-duty.
4. Supporting safe prescription fulfillment by following workflow procedures and safety protocols.
5. Providing compassionate patient care, resolving insurance and medication issues, and collaborating with healthcare teams.
6. Offering immunizations and supporting pharmacy technicians in immunization delivery.
7. Managing pharmacy inventory with a focus on cold chain products and compliance with regulations.
8. Ensuring pharmacy operations comply with state regulations and escalating issues as needed.
9. Maintaining clinical and technical skills, seeking opportunities for professional growth.
10. Supporting clinical services like testing and prescribing where permissible.
11. Adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and CVS policies to ensure patient safety and a safe workplace.
