This posting is for a full time Staff Pharmacist position for a Telepharmacy.

Store Hours

M-TH: 8:00am-5:00pm

F: 8:00am-3:00pm

Applicants are expected to work a minimum of 38 hours a week. The schedules are subject to the needs of the pharmacy and HOPE clinic.

The compensation package for full-time employees includes:

Summary

Dispenses prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals for patient care by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Consistently models our core values.
  • Provides exceptional customer service according to the customer core process and mission.
  • Notifies the pharmacist-in-charge of potential violations of any statute, rule or court order existing within the pharmacy.
  • Partners with the pharmacist-in-charge to help educate staff on pharmacy-related issues including, but not limited to, regulatory changes/compliance, FDA drug recalls, drug information, sample medications, and investigational studies.
  • Participates in the implementation of quality assurance programs for pharmacy services designed to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of patient care, pursue opportunities to improve patient care, and resolve identified problems.
  • Participates in the implementation and maintenance of the pharmacy technician training manual as requested by the pharmacist-in-charge.
  • Partners with the pharmacist-in-charge to ensure that the pharmacy is in compliance with all local, state, and federal accrediting rules and regulations.
  • Follow all applicable government regulations including HIPAA.
  • Provides supervision and oversight of pharmacy practice duties performed by all pharmacy employees.
  • Performs final verification of all prescriptions issued by a physician, or other authorized prescriber.
  • Directs pharmacy workers engaged in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
  • Answers questions and provides information on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals to prescribers as well as patients.
  • Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
  • Answers phone calls requiring a pharmacist.
  • Retrieves messages and prescriptions on voicemail system.
  • Performs patient counseling when required as well as requested.
  • Assists/handles customer conflicts both in person as well as on the phone.
  • Demonstrates proficient use of TimeStar & TimeSimplicity and is able to use both, as requested/delegated, to strategically schedule staff as well as manage PTO requests/hour approvals/etc.
  • Other duties as assigned; Job duties may vary by location.

As a staff pharmacist, you are supervising the technician(s) on duty during your scheduled shift. This will require active participation in training as well as collaboration with management to handle employee performance evaluations and correction.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.

At least one year of retail pharmacy experience preferred.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to check basic compounding calculations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of prescription processing software, have access to and operational knowledge of a drug information database, and have access to and operational knowledge of the Texas PMP website, internet software, spreadsheet software and word processing software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Active pharmacist license in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
