Qualifications

• Must be a licensed pharmacist with NY licensure or eligible for licensure.

• Experience in a fast-paced long-term care setting preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, planning and time management skills.
• Proficiency with computer systems and pharmacy software.

Responsibilities:

• Keep in proper records required by state, federal and other agencies available always
• Inspect the pharmacy area regularly to ensure compliance with State, Federal, and other agencies
• Performs the duties of a dispensing pharmacist working in a long-term care pharmacy
• Builds a high quality, service-oriented pharmacy team
• Assures staff training and competency
• Works in cooperation with all other pharmacy departments
• Supervises pharmacy support personnel, which includes activities performed, work allocation between staff as applicable
• Delegates aspects of the practice of pharmacy-to-pharmacy technicians & interns within the parameters of their job description
• Working on PV1 & PV2 verifying prescriptions for accuracy and compliance with pharmacy regulations

Additional roles:

• Reporting to Pharmacy Management of any discrepancies that may occur requiring attention
• Make sure that delivery routes leave on time
• Make sure that the pharmacy is ready for onsite inspection at any given time
• Manage inventory and ordering with the inventory department and ensure all orders are completed

Qualifications:

• Proven ability to evaluate workflow to ensure optimal efficiency
• Proven experience in a fast-paced environment, work well under pressure
• Proven ability to effectively manage people and provide team leadership
• Act as an integral member of the workflow process, pre-verify and verify prescription information to
• Ensure the correct medication is being dispensed and given to the customer

Requirements:

• Must be a licensed pharmacist - Minimum of 2 year
• Current License or evidence of application for licensure as a registered pharmacist in the State of NY
