Job summary

Community Care Rx is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to oversee dispensing in a long-term care setting and lead a dedicated pharmacy team. You will maintain regulatory compliance, train staff, and coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate prescriptions are prepared and delivered on time.

The role emphasizes leadership, process improvement, and robust record-keeping to support high-quality patient care across LTC facilities in NY/NJ.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed pharmacist with NY licensure or eligible for licensure.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a high-quality team.
• Experience in a fast-paced long-term care setting preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, planning and time management skills.
• Proficiency with computer systems and pharmacy software.

Responsibilities

• Keep records required by state, federal and other agencies up to date.
• Inspect the pharmacy area regularly to ensure compliance.
• Perform dispensing pharmacist duties in a long-term care pharmacy.
• Build and lead a high-quality service-oriented pharmacy team.
• Oversee staff training and competency; supervise technicians and interns.
• Coordinate with other pharmacy departments and verify prescriptions (PV1/PV2).
• Ensure correct medication dispensing and accuracy for customers.
• Report discrepancies to Pharmacy Management and ensure timely deliveries.
• Manage inventory and ordering with the inventory department.
