Job summary

Community Health Services in Hartford is seeking a Staff Pediatrician to join the Department of Pediatrics. The physician will deliver comprehensive care for children and adolescents while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and participating in quality improvement and peer review activities.

Qualifications

Department: Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine

Community Health Services participates in the NHSC Loan Repayment Program.

Although clinical experience is preferable, recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.

We are seeking a Staff Pediatrician, to join our Department of Pediatrics at Community Health Services (CHS). The incumbent will deliver comprehensive quality patient care, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions according to standards of practice to children and adolescents. The Clinical Director of the department is Dr. Zeev Harel, former Brown University Medical School Professor of Pediatrics. The levels of employees' engagement and satisfaction in this department are above national average.

The Pediatrician will provide health care in collaboration with other providers in the department. The incumbent may refer patients to consultants for confirmation of diagnosis and treatment procedures as appropriate. The incumbent will also participate in departmental quality improvement and peer review activities.

The successful candidate will:
  • Be a graduate of an accredited school of medicine
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics
  • Possess valid State of Connecticut licensure and have or be eligible to obtain DEA and state narcotic registration
  • Be willing and able to deliver high quality patient care in an efficient manner
  • Be willing and able to provide culturally competent care to a diverse patient population with complex needs in a collaborative environment.
  • Have a track record of proven success communicating effectively with patients, peers, and other stakeholders both orally and in writing.
  • Have demonstrated ability to maintain timely, thorough and accurate written clinical documentation
  • Be able to make evidence-based clinical decisions and comply with department and organizational quality measures
  • Be comfortable using electronic health record and other computer systems
  • Possess a resourceful, problem-solving attitude and an appropriate level of accountability
  • Be willing to perform other duties as assigned
