Job summary

Siemens Healthineers AG is seeking a Staff Package Engineer to lead packaging improvement projects across the Diagnostics portfolio, driving performance, cost control, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

You will collaborate with the Sustainability Package Engineering team to align packaging enhancements with eco-friendly materials and global standards, mentoring engineers and guiding cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Package Engineering, Packaging Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in packaging engineering and leading development projects.
• Experience with biologics packaging and human factors preferred.
• Travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and prioritize packaging improvement opportunities across the product portfolio.
• Lead cross-functional project teams to design, test, and deploy innovative packaging solutions.
• Define and document user requirements, usability inputs, and regulatory expectations.
• Develop and standardize packaging processes and documentation for global regulatory compliance.
• Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and root-cause analysis to reduce waste and improve performance.
• Collaborate with R&D, Supply Chain, Quality, Marketing, and external suppliers.
• Support Tender responses with technical packaging specifications and validations.
• Monitor packaging performance and report progress to leadership.
