Job summary

Robinhood seeks a Staff Software Engineer for the Observability team in Menlo Park, CA. You’ll shape the roadmap for metrics, logs, traces, and alerting, and own the end-to-end observability control plane.

You’ll lead a team of six engineers, optimize telemetry ingestion, and drive cost-efficient, scalable solutions with AI-enabled approaches to achieve high availability across Robinhood’s product surface.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with observability or infrastructure platforms.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes and public cloud (AWS preferred).
• Strong coding in Go or Python with production instrumentation.
• Experience owning an observability control plane or telemetry pipeline.
• Familiarity with Vector, Prometheus, Grafana, Honeycomb, or Sentry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the full-stack observability roadmap for metrics, logs, traces, and alerting infrastructure.
• Own and evolve the observability control plane, including ingestion pipelines and cost management.
• Lead and collaborate with a team of six engineers to build scalable, self-service observability solutions.
• Establish and maintain SLOs ensuring 99.9% uptime for the observability platform.
• Partner with the Command Center and engineering teams to align on dependencies and incident workflows.
