Job summary

Akron Children’s Hospital is seeking a Staff Nurse Resource Pool II to provide clinical nursing care across multiple units during the Part-time 24 hours per week, 7pm-7:30am, with weekend rotation. The role requires BSN and Ohio RN license, and will involve floating across locations within the Akron Children’s Hospital system.

The position emphasizes family-centered care, leadership, and collaboration with pediatric teams, including ongoing education, safety, and use of EPIC.

Qualifications

• BSN required or must be obtained within 5 years of hire.
• Active Ohio RN license required.
• BLS required; ACLS, NRP and PALS within 1 year of hire.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
• Onsite role with ability to float across units as needed.

The Staff Nurse Resource Pool II will be expected to provide clinical nursing care on multiple units/locations based on the needs of the units.

Part-Time, 24 hours/week

7pm-7:30am, rotates every 3rd weekend

The Staff Nurse Resource Pool II provides nursing care requiring specialized knowledge judgment and skill derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social and nursing sciences. The Staff Nurse Resource Pool II will be expected to provide clinical nursing care on multiple units/locations based on the needs of the units.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and directs nursing care with a focus on family centered care for individuals or groups of patients within the assigned scope of practice.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age and developmental status is required.
• Performs leadership and professional duties.
• Performs patient-centered care duties.
• Performs quality improvement and safety duties.
• Participates in the development education for staff members for clinically related issues. May be responsible for precepting new employees and act as a mentor to the clinical staff.
• Performs evidence-based practice duties.
• Supports the provider staff and actively promotes collaboration for efficient operation and quality care, and legendary customer service for pediatric patients using a team approach.
• Performs systems-based practice duties.
• Performs informatics and technology duties.
• Staff may be temporarily assigned to an area throughout the Akron Children's Hospital enterprise, based on patient needs requiring similar knowledge and skill.

Education And Experience

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support training from the American Heart Association is required. Additional certifications may be required based on the assigned department or unit. Additional certifications that must be obtained within one (1) year of hire include ACLS, NRP and PALS.
• Active licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Ohio is required.
• Years of relevant experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience is required.
