Children's of Alabama is seeking an Imaging Sedation Nurse to prepare, monitor, and recover pediatric patients requiring sedation for CT and MRI. The role supports imaging at the main campus and across sites, collaborating with anesthesia and care teams to ensure safety and minimize radiation exposure.
Required education includes ADN/BSN/MSN with pediatric nursing experience; current BLS; PALS preferred. Schedule features 12-hour Day-Evening shifts on a rotating weekly pattern.

Work schedule will be Full-time on the Day Evening Shift, 7a-7p Thursday and Friday of week 1, and Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday of week 2.
The staff nurse is a professional nurse who, with minimal supervision, is responsible for providing nursing care to patients. Patient care includes assessment, interventions, and reassessments of the patient. The nurse is also responsible for planning, implementing, educating, and evaluating care of patients/caregivers.
The Imaging Sedation Nurse will prepare, monitor, and recover patients requiring sedation for CT and MRI at Children’s South and will also work at the main campus to screen sedation patients by phone and assist in all areas of Imaging as needed.
CT is an imaging modality that uses x-rays to produce cross-sectional images. The CT team at Children’s of Alabama is where your expertise can make a profound difference. Using state-ofthe-art low-dose CT technology, you’ll perform essential scans to assist in diagnosing and treating of a wide range of pediatric conditions. You’ll be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team focused on safety, precision, and minimizing radiation exposure for our young patients. The CT suite works closely with the Anesthesia department and child life specialists to provide the Ambient Experience. This helps to reduce patient anxiety.
