Job summary
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector seeks an experienced Staff motor drive engineer to design solutions for electromechanical servo systems. Tasks include motor selection, PWM and linear motor drive hardware design, controls design, testing and subsystem integration.
Full-time on-site at Rolling Meadows, IL. Qualifications include a BS in Electrical Engineering with 12+ years’ experience, or MS/PhD options with respective years, plus CM drive experience and US citizenship.
Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering and 12+ years of relevant experience; 10 years with MS; 8 years with PhD.
- Experience with selection and control of 3-phase brushless DC motors.
- Experience with power electronics design.
- Proficiency with MATLAB, Simulink, and circuit simulation tools (e.g. SPICE, Saber).
- Ability to function in a multi-disciplinary, team-oriented environment.
- US Citizenship and ability to obtain Secret clearance.

- Design solutions for electromechanical servo systems.
- Motor selection and control for servo applications.
- Develop PWM and linear motor drive hardware and controls.
- Test, troubleshoot, and integrate subsystems.
