Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector seeks an experienced Staff motor drive engineer to design solutions for electromechanical servo systems, including motor selection, PWM and linear drive hardware, controls design, testing and integration. The role is full-time and on-site in Rolling Meadows, IL.

US Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret Clearance are required. 12+ years of electrical engineering experience and strong background in brushless DC motors, power electronics, MATLAB/Simulink

Qualifications

BS EE or closely related field with 12+ years of experience (10+ with MS, 8+ with PhD).
Experience selecting and controlling 3-phase brushless DC motors.
Experience with power electronics design.
Proficiency with MATLAB, Simulink, and circuit simulation tools.

Responsibilities

Design motor drive solutions for electromechanical servo systems.
Perform motor selection, PWM and linear drive hardware design, controls design, testing and integration.
Collaborate in a small team across programs and business units.
