Job summary

BD is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer in Irvine, CA to lead designing, developing, and deploying ML solutions across the Connected Care portfolio. You will own the full lifecycle—from experimentation to production—building scalable models for forecasting, optimization, and anomaly detection, and collaborating with engineering, product, and clinical teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Machine Learning, Statistics, Operations Research, Applied Math, Computer Science, or related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on ML/AI and software engineering with production ownership.
• Deep expertise in model development and training across classical ML and deep learning, including time-series and multi-series settings.
• Excellent Python; fluent with NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, statsmodels, PyTorch, and forecasting stack.
• Experience delivering ML services on AWS with Docker/Kubernetes and CI/CD.
• Strong software-engineering habits: testing, packaging, CI, code review, observability.
• Working in Agile/Scrum and documenting in Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end ML lifecycle from experimentation to deployment and monitoring.
• Apply classical and deep learning methods for forecasting, optimization, and anomaly detection.
• Build training pipelines, feature engineering, dataset versioning, and rigorous experimentation.
• Turn models into production services on AWS (EKS, S3, Lambda, EventBridge, Step Functions).
• Implement evaluation, monitoring, latency, drift checks, and governance with ML Platform.
• Develop explainable outputs to justify recommendations and enable user trust.
• Mentor engineers, review designs, and contribute to engineering standards.
• Document methodology, assumptions, and validation in Confluence and runbooks.
