Job summary

Robinhood is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer for the AI R&D team to own the design and delivery of sophisticated personalization and recommendation systems that affect millions of users on the Robinhood platform.

You will mentor engineers, define the team's technical direction, and push the frontier of ML in a regulated financial environment while collaborating across product, data engineering, and analytics teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in ML engineering with production-scale models.
• Proven track record in personalization and recommendation systems in high-traffic environments.
• Experience delivering projects from zero to one with measurable outcomes.
• Exposure to agentic systems or LLM fine-tuning and modern AI paradigms.
• Strong coding skills in Python and familiarity with ML infrastructure tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship end-to-end personalization, ranking, and recommendation systems.
• Collaborate with product, data engineering, and platform teams to define tech strategy and scope projects.
• Lead zero-to-one development of new ML capabilities in fintech with regulatory considerations.
• Experiment with and integrate modern AI paradigms like agentic workflows and LLM fine-tuning.
• Set technical direction through architecture reviews, code reviews, and mentorship.
