Reddit is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to provide technical leadership for the Retrieval and Targeting ML team. You will lead the design and evolution of retrieval models that improve relevance, advertiser outcomes, and user experience at Reddit scale.

This is an applied ML role centered on retrieval modeling and end-to-end product impact, spanning data, objective design, model development, evaluation, experimentation, and launch, while guiding other engineers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of industry experience shipping applied ML products.
• Experience with retrieval modeling concepts and NN search.
• Ability to own ML projects end-to-end from data to production.

Responsibilities

• Define technical direction and multi-year roadmap for ads retrieval modeling.
• Design, develop, and launch candidate-generation and retrieval models.
• Apply two-tower architectures and embedding methods where valuable.
• Improve retrieval stack design choices and feature engineering.
• Lead offline analysis and online experiments.
• Collaborate with ranking, ads platform, and measurement teams.
• Write design docs and review code to raise quality.
• Mentor ML engineers and grow team expertise.
