Job summary

Dandy is seeking a Staff Mechatronics Engineer to join our Precision Robotics R&D team in the South Bay. You will architect the mechatronic system for SPMs, integrating actuators, sensors, and motion control for high‑precision prosthetic manufacturing.

With 8+ years in hardware/mechatronics, you will lead cross‑functional design, rapid prototyping, and validated production readiness, in a hybrid role with ~20% travel. Strong CAD, robotics, and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hardware, mechatronics or robotics experience in production systems.
• Led at least one complex electromechanical system from concept to ramp.
• Bachelor/Master/PhD in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, or Robotics.
• Proven leadership without formal authority across multiple teams.
• Expert 3D CAD modeling and manufacturing process knowledge.
• Expertise in robotics kinematics/dynamics and simulation tools.
• Hands-on with sensor integration, embedded systems, and manufacturing design execution.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechatronic architecture for the SPM platform family.
• Define actuation, sensing, and motion-control approaches for new machines.
• Lead rapid prototyping and validation, including FMEA and validation testing.
• Interface between mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software teams.
• Set technical standards for design reviews and validation practices.
