Job summary

AMETEK NSI-MI Technologies in Suwanee, GA, seeks an experienced Staff Mechanical Engineer to lead major mechanical design efforts. You will own electromechanical systems from concept through installation, providing direction to multidisciplinary teams and ensuring design-for-manufacturability and testability.

The role requires extensive experience in precision motion systems, bearings, gears, weldments, and metrology. Travel ~30% across domestic and international locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering required.
• Ten+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience designing complex machinery and electromechanical products.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or comparable 3D CAD software.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Ability to perform structural FEA and interpret results.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical engineering scope of complex electromechanical systems and projects.
• Provide technical guidance to multidisciplinary teams.
• Drive projects from requirements through factory integration testing and customer acceptance.
• Develop 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
• Design and analyze motion systems, weldments, and precision components.
• Lead design reviews and communicate decisions, risks, and actions.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, suppliers, and customers to resolve issues.
