Job summary

Responsibilities

• Build multi-domain physics models from scratch to predict behavior in novel mechanisms, focusing on electromagnetics, tribology/wear, kinematics, and soft-material interactions.
• Construct bespoke modeling scripts (Python, MATLAB) and utilize advanced simulation software (COMSOL, FEMM) to explore parameter spaces where standard off-the-shelf modeling tools are insufficient.
• Utilize, develop, and evolve agentic tools and AI-driven methodologies to accelerate physics modeling, automate complex parameter exploration, and pioneer next-generation hardware development.
• Perform detailed calculations and dynamic simulations for actuators, magnetic array topologies, bearing surface selection, and transmission efficiency.
• Partner closely with Controls, Firmware, and Electrical engineers to ensure subsystem models seamlessly integrate into the broader robotic architecture.

We are looking for an exceptional Mechanical Engineer specializing in Physics Modeling and Simulation to join our robotics team.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between pure physics theory, computational modeling, and physical hardware. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $176000 - $256000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits.
