Job summary

Tighe & Bond’s Woburn, MA office is seeking a Staff Engineer 2 to join our MEP team. You’ll lead the design of mechanical air and hydronic systems, and collaborate with architects and contractors to deliver integrated infrastructure projects across the Northeast.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, 2–5 years HVAC design experience, and Engineer in Training certification; Master’s and PE licensure are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Engineer in Training certification required.
• 2–5 years of HVAC design experience in mechanical systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of mechanical air and hydronic system drawings, details, flow diagrams, and concepts.
• Perform and review heating and cooling load calculations and prepare bid-ready documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Coordinate with internal disciplines and external partners for integrated project delivery.
• Support project managers in scheduling and technical quality.
• Conduct field surveys of existing mechanical systems.
• Assist in construction administration, including reviewing submittals and RFIs; participate in site visits.
